Senior SDET Lead - Quality Engineering & Test Automation

We are seeking a SDET Lead to establish and drive quality engineering strategy for a large-scale network automation initiative. This role will partner directly with engineering and architecture teams to design enterprise testing frameworks, quality controls, and automation strategies that support rapid delivery by offshore development teams.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise across backend testing, API validation, automation frameworks, test data management, CI/CD integration, and quality governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the overall quality engineering strategy for network automation applications and platforms.

• Design scalable automated testing frameworks supporting APIs, microservices, backend services, and workflow orchestration.

• Create testing requirements, quality standards, and acceptance criteria for engineering teams.

• Establish automated validation processes integrated into CI/CD pipelines.

• Develop performance, integration, regression, and resiliency testing strategies.

• Partner with architects and developers during solution design to ensure testability and quality controls are built into the architecture.

• Lead offshore QA and automation teams through implementation and execution.

• Create metrics and reporting frameworks to measure quality, release readiness, and production stability.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for testing practices and software delivery processes.

• 10+ years of quality engineering, SDET, or test automation experience, including technical leadership responsibilities.

• Strong expertise in backend testing, API validation, microservices testing, and automation framework design.

• Experience developing automated tests using Java and/or Python.

• Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated quality gates, and release validation processes.

• Experience testing distributed systems, workflow orchestration platforms, and enterprise applications.

• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and backend data validation techniques.

• Experience leading offshore QA and automation teams through implementation and execution.

• Ability to define quality standards, testing strategies, and governance frameworks across complex programs.

• Strong communication skills with experience partnering directly with architects, developers, and business stakeholders.
