Job description
The National Solutions Business Area at Leidos currently has an opening for a cleared cartographic analyst to support our customer in Springfield Virginia. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience in GIS analysis to support a dynamic national security customer.
The successful candidate will work as a member of a government-contractor team providing cartographic production and analysis.
The candidate should have a strong geospatial background and the ability to work independently as well as collaborate on projects.
Position requires a current TS/SCI and willingness to obtain a CI Polygraph.
Primary Responsibilities
The Cartographic Analyst will work within a government/contractor team environment providing Electronic Nautical Chart Conversion, Production and Review as well as provide support to existing and developing mission areas.
Future needs and capabilities, as well as developmental assignments, are included. This may include Digital Nautical Chart and or Electronic Nautical Chart Conversion production by performing Cartographic and GIS analyst functions, Extracting features from a variety of sources including but not necessarily limited to rasterized nautical charts, digital hydrographic survey data and ortho-rectified imagery
Updating source and source catalogs and information
Requirements
Minimum of a High Scheel Degree
Five years of relevant experience (military or full time geospatial professional work)
Or, High School and 4 years + GPC level I and II, or relevant Bachelor’s degree + 2 years’ experience
Experience in geography, cartography and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) which includes skill in ArcGIS applications
Experience in creating shapefiles, geo-databases, and features
Knowledge of digital cartography, image processing, geographical information systems (GIS), geospatial production techniques and NGA digital data formats
Ability to analyze imagery and non-imagery source information for application to NGA hydrographic products and databases.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Nautical Maritime experience
