Job description

We are seeking an experienced Principal Data Center Network Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of complex enterprise and cloud networking environments. This individual will serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert, driving network architecture initiatives, supporting customer engagements, and partnering with internal engineering, sales, and solutioning teams. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in Arista and Cisco data center technologies, extensive consulting experience, and a proven ability to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure network solutions for enterprise clients., Design, engineer, and implement scalable data center and cloud networking solutions utilizing Arista and Cisco technologies.

Lead network architecture initiatives from concept through deployment, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and industry best practices.

Evaluate, test, and deploy foundational network infrastructure components for greenfield and existing network environments.

Create and maintain detailed high-level and low-level network design documentation and diagrams.

Develop network architecture, partitioning strategies, service specifications, and implementation plans.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues across mission-critical environments.

Lead network validation, integration, and testing efforts to ensure solution performance, security, and operational integrity.

Support strategic network upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.

Act as a technical advisor during customer meetings, workshops, and solution presentations.

Collaborate with Sales and Solutioning teams to develop technical solutions, Statements of Work (SoWs), and Level of Effort (LoE) estimates.

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across advanced networking deployments.

Research emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that improve performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality delivery standards and meeting aggressive deadlines.

Promote knowledge sharing through documentation, training, and technical best practices.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of professional experience in large enterprise or carrier space

  • Arista L5 Certification

  • Professional networking certifications a plus (i.e. CCNP/CCIE or equivalent)

  • Experience with Cisco primarily within the datacenter network portfolio

  • Arista skills required Juniper skills would be nice to have

  • Previous Consulting Experience required

Candidate should have strong, working understanding in the following areas:

  • Solid Understanding of the OSI model, routing and switching protocols, network security, IPv4 networking, subnetting, and operational experience

  • Demonstrated confidence to deliver customer-facing discussions.

  • Excellent verbal articulation, written communications

  • Hands-on technical skills, including ability to develop and conduct demonstrations

  • Complex operational configuration experience (VPC, VSS, VRF, BGP, OSPF)

  • Experience with Nexus Dashboard deployment and troubleshooting (Single and Multisite configurations)

  • Experience with VxLan and Evpn datacenter networking design and implementation

  • Demonstrated experience with automation or scripting tools to deploy and maintain environments.
