Job description
The Security Auditor is responsible for auditing and ensuring compliance of physical access control systems, badging programs, and key management across California campuses. This role focuses on risk identification, audit execution, and reporting, while partnering with Security, Engineering, and Operations to maintain access integrity and regulatory compliance. This is an independent, audit-only role and does not provision access., * Audit Oversight: Conduct audits of access control devices (doors, readers, key systems), identify risks or gaps, document findings, and track remediation. Verify alarm reporting and perform door security checks.
- Badging & Access Governance: Review monthly access reports, ensure approvals are authorized, and validate access against policies and matrices. Audit cardholder data for discrepancies and maintain records.
- Key Management: Monitor key system reports, identify missing or overdue keys, and support periodic audits of key inventory and controls.
- Reporting & Metrics: Track and report KPIs, investigate exceptions, and deliver weekly/monthly audit reports.
- Ticketing & Coordination: Create and manage tickets, coordinate with internal teams for issue resolution, and escalate risks or systemic issues.
- Inventory & Admin: Maintain badge inventory, track changes, and provide regular summaries to management.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to ISO 27001, ISO 9001, SOC 2, and contractual requirements; support internal/external audits.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Guard Card license?, Do you have experience in Updating inventory records?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * Experience in security auditing, access control, or identity governance (preferred in critical environments)
- Knowledge of access control and key management systems
- Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and interpret policies/matrices
- Valid CA Guard Card; High school diploma or equivalent
Core Competencies: Attention to detail, risk awareness, communication skills, multitasking, and discretion with sensitive information
Additional Requirements: Must meet background and onboarding requirements. Role does not include access provisioning or approvals.
