Job description

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join a large public sector healthcare organisation on an initial 6-month contract.This is an excellent opportunity for a highly analytical professional who enjoys investigating complex datasets, identifying trends, producing actionable insights and supporting operational decision-making through data-driven recommendations.

The Role

You will be responsible for extracting, validating, analysing and interpreting complex data from a variety of operational, workforce and corporate systems. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will translate investigative and operational activity into meaningful reports, trends analysis and performance insights.The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting service improvement initiatives, workforce planning and performance management through robust analytical reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse data from operational, workforce and corporate systems.
  • Investigate complex datasets and identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Produce meaningful reports, dashboards and analytical outputs.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to support operational and strategic priorities.
  • Monitor operational performance and key performance indicators.
  • Support teams in identifying opportunities for service improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of performance monitoring frameworks.
  • Support demand forecasting and capacity planning activities.
  • Develop trend-based and predictive reporting.
  • Analyse historical activity data to support business planning.
  • Present findings and recommendations to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Support managers in interpreting and acting upon performance information.
  • Work collaboratively with operational and non-technical teams.

Requirements

  • SQL
  • Excel
  • Experience analysing data from multiple systems and sources
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with case management systems and investigating operational data
  • Proven ability to investigate, interpret and make effective use of data
  • Experience extracting, validating and analysing data
  • Ability to identify trends and provide evidence-based recommendations
  • Experience producing reports and presenting findings to stakeholders

Desirable

  • Exposure to Power BI.
  • NHS or wider healthcare sector experience.
  • Workforce analytics experience.
  • Resource planning or capacity planning experience.
  • Predictive modelling and forecasting experience.
  • Experience working with large-scale operational datasets., * EXCEL
