Job description
Under the general direction of the Director of Information & Educational Technology, plan, coordinate, and oversee the implementation, maintenance, and reliability of district technology systems, network infrastructure, and end-user technology resources. Supervise assigned technology staff for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency of the workforce and meeting operational requirements. Manage district technology initiatives related to network infrastructure, structured cabling, telecommunications, device deployment, classroom technology, and technical support.
Responsibilities

Oversee and manage day-to-day technology operations and technical support services throughout the district.

Supervise and evaluate assigned technology staff, including assigning work, providing training, conducting evaluations, onboarding new staff, and supporting professional growth.

Oversee district help desk operations and ensure timely, professional, and effective technical support services.

Design, manage, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot district network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VLAN, WiFi, fiber, and telecommunications systems.

Coordinate and oversee structured cabling, network electronics, MDF/IDF standards, and related infrastructure projects.

Monitor district-wide network performance using network management and monitoring systems; identify and troubleshoot network issues, performance concerns, and potential security threats.

Coordinate the deployment, installation, maintenance, and replacement of district technology equipment and systems.

Develop and maintain operational standards, procedures, documentation, inventories, diagrams, and reference materials related to district technology infrastructure and support services.

Develop, coordinate, and maintain disaster recovery, data backup, and security incident response procedures to help ensure the availability, integrity, and recovery of district technology systems and services.

Coordinate technology projects including scope development, implementation planning, resource planning, scheduling, vendor coordination, and project oversight.

Assist in the implementation and support of district cybersecurity standards, procedures, and technology safeguards.

Coordinate operational support for district enterprise systems including Google Workspace, Microsoft environments, and related technology platforms.

Collaborate with district departments, school sites, vendors, contractors, and service providers to address district technology needs.

Research, recommend, and assist with the implementation of technology hardware, software, network systems, and operational improvements.

Develop and maintain a technology replacement cycle for network infrastructure, end-user devices, classroom technology, and related systems.

Coordinate and support district audio/visual systems, security camera systems, access control systems, and related technology resources.

Ensure district technology systems, infrastructure, and technical services maintain a high level of reliability, performance, security, and availability while minimizing service disruptions and downtime for students and staff.

Coordinate district response and communication during technology outages or service disruptions.

Prepare technical specifications, requests for proposals, operational documentation, reports, and other materials related to district technology initiatives and infrastructure projects.

Coordinate and provide technology-related training and guidance for district staff as needed.

Maintain knowledge of current technological advances, industry best practices, and the latest trends through conferences, workshops, training, and professional development.

Travel to district sites to coordinate, inspect, troubleshoot, and support district technology systems and infrastructure.

Plan, prioritize, organize, and schedule work to meet timelines and operational objectives.

Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Work effectively independently and as part of a team.

Maintain consistent, punctual, and regular attendance.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee to support district goals and objectives.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * BA/BS Degree, preferably in a computer science-related field/or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in information technology operations, network administration, or technical support leadership.
- Experience in public sector or educational environment preferred.
- Experience supervising and coordinating technical support staff and technology projects.
- Experience managing and supporting Windows, Chrome OS, and other end-user computing devices.
- Experience supporting enterprise technology environments including Google Workspace, Microsoft environments, and instructional technology systems.
- Experience coordinating structured cabling, network electronics, telecommunications, and infrastructure projects.
- Equivalent education, training, and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively perform the responsibilities of the position.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license and the ability to qualify, and maintain qualification, for District vehicle insurance coverage. Some use of a personal vehicle may be necessary to assist employees at multiple District sites during a workday.
