Job description
We are seeking a dedicated IT Onsite Technician to join our London based clients growing tech team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing computer systems and equipment. You will also provide routine technical support and perform checks to assist the wider teams, ensuring the continuous availability of the IT network, infrastructure, and equipment
Day-to-day of the role:
- Responsible for asset control and stock ordering of devices as needed.
- Assist users with hardware issuing or replacement as required.
- Ensure that issues and support requests are resolved within defined SLAs and documented within the ITSM tool.
- Manage the sending of devices off for repair and liaising with vendors.
- Adhere to established processes and procedures.
- Set up mobile phones and conduct hardware refreshes.
- Provide support to client and internal meeting rooms.
- Perform daily backup tape changes and hardware maintenance.
- Assist in troubleshooting Storage Controllers and Server Controllers, including the replacement of Storage Disks and Server Blades as required.
- Conduct physical daily checks of system hardware health.
- Perform Switch Upgrades, Console and Backups, and cable tracing to troubleshoot issues in Comms Rooms for Server/Network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot onsite wireless issues and deployments, including conducting local surveys.
- Participate in project work as required, including non-business hour deployments (e.g., nights and weekends).
- Assist with Video Conferencing in meeting rooms as required.
Requirements
- Broad software application skills and proficiency in network skills.
- At least 2+ years’ experience with Windows operating systems and hardware in a computer support-related setting; experience working in a networked environment.
- Prior experience with a ticketing system is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of ITIL service management and its processes is highly advantageous.
