Job description

  • Develop and maintain information security plans, policies and procedures
  • Implement and manage security controls across internal and customer networks
  • Monitor SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS systems and other security tools for threats and vulnerabilities
  • Investigate and resolve cyber security incidents and security alerts
  • Carry out vulnerability assessments and recommend security improvements
  • Design, build, test and troubleshoot network security solutions
  • Provide third-line technical support for complex cyber security issues
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, security policies and configuration guides
  • Work closely with Engineering and IT teams to ensure secure network design and operation
  • Participate in incident management and continual security improvement initiatives

  • Security, We are hiring a permanent, full-time Cyber Security Engineer based in Redhill, Surrey, working office-based. We are an established and well-regarded business operating within the satellite communications and maritime technology sector, supporting critical systems for satellite communications, maritime and government customers. You will work closely with our IT, Engineering and Compliance teams in a collaborative engineering and technical environment, with the opportunity to become our cyber security specialist. Requirements

  • Strong experience with Cisco firewalls, routers and switches
  • Experience with Juniper networking platforms
  • Hands-on knowledge of SIEM, IDS/IPS and vulnerability management
  • Experience carrying out or supporting penetration testing activities
  • Understanding of ISO27001, GDPR and ITIL best practices
  • Ability to communicate technical cyber security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Eligible to obtain SC Security Clearance
  • Desirable: telecommunications industry experience
  • Desirable: satellite communications (Satcom) experience
  • Desirable: maritime communications experience
  • Desirable: UK MOD or government network environments experience
