Job description

A Government Department are seeking a Change Manager to lead the design and delivery of change management and communication activities for their Finance System Project, ensuring a successful transition from eFinancials to the new Financials system and supporting adoption of the system across the organisation.

The Change Manager will work closely with the Project Manager, Business Analysts and other stakeholders to support business readiness, manage transition risks, communicate progress and expectations effectively and embed sustainable change practices.

The Project will transition from two separate instances of the “end of life” eFinancials system to a single cloud-based Financials system. The scope includes re-mapping processes to adopt more modern ways of working using “out of the box” solutions such as OCR for purchase invoice entry, as well as standardising processes across satellite teams and all areas of financial processing.

Requirements

Essential professional and technical experience

  • Proven experience in leading change management activities within transformation or change projects.
  • Strong understanding of change management principles, stakeholder engagement, and business readiness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trust.
  • Experience working across diverse stakeholder groups in a public sector or regulated environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver structured support across concurrent workstreams.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams.
  • Competent IT user with experience using MS Office and collaboration tools (e.g. Teams, SharePoint).
  • Experience supporting finance system transformation projects.
  • Familiarity with public sector change governance.
  • Experience developing stakeholder management plans and adoption KPIs.
