Job description
The Warehouse & Production Management team within the Production Supply Chain Group (SCL-3) is seeking an energetic, customer-focused professional to serve as the First-Line Manager (FLM). The selected candidate will assist the Responsible Line Manager (RLM) in overseeing a dynamic workforce and multifaceted warehouse operations. Activities include classified parts management, chemical storage and handling, kitting, inventory tracking, metric reporting, material replenishment, and the receipt, storage, retrieval, staging, and issuance of production and facility-maintenance materials.
The position will also support personnel management, staffing forecasts, performance management, hiring, and employee onboarding. As a working lead, the selected candidate will continue to receive, pull, stage, and issue materials as operational needs require.
One will help build and sustain a cohesive, high-performing team while aligning daily work with organizational goals. The selected candidate will maintain a thorough understanding of warehouse processes and supply chain management and will direct team activities to ensure work is performed safely, securely, effectively, and compliantly.
The FLM will direct daily work activities, monitor facility milestones and deliverables, and ensure materials and equipment are:
- Accurately tracked through applicable inventory management systems.
- Stored and organized for efficient retrieval and traceability.
- Controlled in accordance with quality, safety, security, and other governing requirements.
- Maintained within defined storage levels and applicable shelf-life requirements.
- Properly handled when maintenance or special controls are required for quality-affecting items.
Additional responsibilities include developing processes, procedures, desktop instructions, and training materials, assisting the Manufacturing Support Manager 4 (MSM-4) with resolving complex warehouse issues, providing status updates and reports to customers, ensuring pre-job and post-job activities are completed, and reinforcing the consistent use of established safety practices and protocols., Work Schedule: This position may/will require 24/7 coverage, which could/will involve working a shift/weekend schedule. Employees may be eligible for the shift differential pay when assigned by their manager. Shift/weekend assignments are at the discretion of the manager.
Requirements

- Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 5 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
- Functionality:
- Knowledge of supply chain and resource management practices.
- Proven ability to monitor performance and marshal resources to complete project deliverables on schedule.
- Proven ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement, organizational learning, and safe and secure work.
- Demonstrated ability to comply with established warehouse practices and procedures.
- Experience managing production and facility-maintenance materials and using inventory management systems.
- Experience developing compliant procurement packages for safety-class and safety-significant items.
- Experience managing, storing, handling, and controlling materials and equipment within a nuclear facility, including equipment associated with complex programmatic projects.
- Experience gathering and reporting performance metrics.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability in managing, supervising, and developing employees, including team building, consensus building, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
- Computing/Business Systems:
- Above average computer skills.
- Demonstrated proficient experience with Inventory Control, Material Tracking systems such as MRP, and various software suites, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Customer Service:
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- The ability to provide clear, concise support and guidance to others in stressful situations.
- Experience interacting professionally with all types of personnel including management, technicians, administrative staff, engineers, etc.
- Communication:
- Record of effective written and oral communication skills as evidenced by internal and/or external interactions, seminars, briefings, presentations, or publications.
- Ability to communicate findings and make recommendations.
- Organizational Skills:
- Possess high attention to detail including excellent organizational skills, analytical thinking, observational skills, and problem-solving skills all to include high accuracy.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to the workings of a dynamic and cohesive fast-paced team environment.
- Leadership:
- Ability to successfully plan, organize, lead, and monitor team efforts.

- Demonstrated ability to proactively assist others in achieving the organization’s objectives., * Experience supporting business operations, including financial activities, human resources, warehouse operations, and related functions.
- Knowledge of and experience applying complex, integrated, and overlapping requirements within nuclear, manufacturing, or production facilities, including weapon-quality and nuclear-safety requirements.
- Experience controlling materials in a nuclear facility or other highly regulated environment.
- Knowledge of and experience with Associate Laboratory Directorate for Weapons Production (ALDWP) programs, including relevant technical and operational disciplines.
- Experience managing chemical inventory.
- Experience handling classified or sensitive materials.
- Ability to remain positive, adaptable, and effective while working with a diverse team.
- An active DOE Q-level clearance.
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management., *Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Incentive Compensation Program: Position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program. You must be in an eligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st and remain in an eligible position as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th. The annual distribution is pro-rated based on the number of months in the eligible position.
