Job description

As an Oracle Database Administrator (ISS8), you will play a crucial role in maintaining the stability and performance of IT systems that provide critical services to customers throughout the state. You will diagnose complex problems for customer agencies within the AIX environment, onboard customers into the AIX (Oracle and DB2) environment, provide expert level support to customers, coordinate solutions between multiple agencies and other entities, identify and automate processes and procedures for on-premise and cloud solutions, architect the database (Oracle and DB2) environment to meet the needs of both DCS and its customers, and participate in disaster recovery planning and implementation processes for Oracle services.

While this is an Oracle-focused role, we are interested in candidates that have experience with, or the interest and capacity to learn DB2. The successful candidate for this position will have some backup duties related to DB2. Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of information systems experience in: Oracle database administration; OR

  • An Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND five (5) years of information systems experience in: Oracle database administration ; OR

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND three (3) years of information systems experience in: Oracle database administration; OR

  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND one (1) year of information systems experience in: Oracle database administration., * Demonstrated skill and experience managing Oracle databases on multiple platforms and environments.
  • Experience with, exposure to, or willingness to learn to manage, DB2 databases on multiple platforms and environments. Additional consideration may be given to candidates with DB2 experience.
  • Familiarity with AIX on IBM Power Systems and/or Unix-based operating environment.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Shell, Python, or Perl for automating tasks.
  • Experience with automation tools to streamline database management.
  • Skill and experience managing and maintaining WebLogic and/or WebSphere servers.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Expert level experience in IT incident response, problem analysis, investigation, and root cause analysis., * Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Applicants who require VISA sponsorship will not be considered at this time.
  • This position requires you to obtain and maintain CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) clearance.
  • Employee will be required to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license issued by the state where the employee resides.
