Job description
Reporting to the ANR IT Infrastructure Manager, ANR IT delivers primary leadership and comprehensive IT support for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) through a collaborative shared services model. Working alongside departmental and university IT teams, ANR IT provides technology resources that advance MSU’s mission of education, research, and community engagement.
We are seeking talented individuals to join our team and support the daily technology needs of the College. In this front-line role, you will provide hands-on and remote assistance to faculty and staff, ensuring reliable and effective IT services. As an ANR IT team member, you will help improve processes, coordinate and guide team activities, triage incoming requests, and manage escalations.
Key responsibilities include managing Meraki networking and upgrades for MSUE and MSU Agbio, server management for college, purchase, configure, and distribute technology assets; managing assets throughout their lifecycle; delivering high-quality workstation and software support; and administering employee accounts for access management.
Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that normally acquired through completion of a four-year degree with coursework or focus in an information technology specialization relevant to the position. One to three years of progressively responsible professional experience providing a combination of end-user, desktop, and basic network support or related information technology services in an educational or business environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience., Possession of CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, AWS Cloud Practitioner, or equivalent certification; experience providing technical support for hardware, software, operating systems, mobile devices, and network infrastructure, including Cisco Meraki environments; demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while delivering excellent customer service; strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences; experience with endpoint and mobile device management, IT service management platforms, and enterprise technologies; working knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, virtualization, and cloud-based services; and the ability to independently manage multiple priorities while contributing effectively to team projects and organizational initiatives.
