Job description

  • Review database SRG and/or STIGs as updates are released, and report changes with the potential to have significant impact.\n
  • Determine the impact and risk of submitted change requests prior to implementation and participate in meetings to provide cyber oversight for web changes that affect the level of risk.\n
  • Perform system updates and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) patching.\n
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database problems.\n
  • Perform database recovery actions.\n
  • Modify existing database scripts to enhance systems support and create new database scripts for recurring database issues.\n
  • Develop and execute SQL queries for routine and ad hoc requests.\n

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline and at least eight (8) years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for a degree.\n
  • Must have at least 5 years of demonstrated experience as a Database Administrator.\n
  • Must have at least 5 years of Oracle Database Administration experience.\n
  • In-depth experience implementing and maintaining database security controls.\n
  • In-depth experience applying Oracle CPU patches, IAVA patches, and other database products.\n
  • In-depth experience with Linux security as it relates to Oracle databases.\n
  • In-depth experience troubleshooting and resolving database problems and issues.\n
  • Must have hands-on experience installing, configuring, and upgrading RDBMS software.\n
  • Must have experience with procedural languages such as PL/SQL.\n, * Experience with real-time, highly available data replication technologies such as Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Streams, Oracle GoldenGate, Sybase Replication Server.\n
  • Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and/or as a member of an Agile team.\n
  • Extensive, in-depth knowledge of databases, with primary focus on Oracle and other relational and non-relational/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.\n
  • Experience using Oracle SQL/PLSQL, and SQL in general.\n
  • Experience with MongoDB and/or Cassandra.\n

The selected individual will assess, audit, analyze, validate, and report database Security Requirements Guide (SRG) and STIG vulnerabilities while ensuring security controls are implemented in accordance with DoD, DISA, and cybersecurity policies and procedures. They will evaluate discrepancies against applicable policies, directives, and database SRG/STIG requirements, and document recommended additions, deletions, or revisions.\n \n \nPrimary Responsibilities\n \n \n

  • Implement and maintain DISA STIGs for platforms Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra and/or MONGO DB.\n
  • Perform vulnerability scans, analyze findings, and remediate security weaknesses.\n
  • Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and contribute to Authority to Operate (ATO) packages.\n
  • Conduct routine security readiness reviews and document Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) items.\n
