Job description
Provide leadership and coordination of Fargo testing, tutoring, and academic support services to promote student achievement, retention, and persistence.
- Serve as the primary coordinator for testing operations across Fargo locations to ensure consistent service delivery and coverage.
- Lead tutoring operations, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and supervision of student and professional tutors.
- Collaborate with faculty and Student Success staff to identify, support, and connect students with appropriate academic interventions that promote learning, persistence, and success.
- Facilitate academic coaching meetings with students as the role evolves.
- Develop & deliver presentations and workshops regarding academic skills and available support resources to students, faculty & staff.
Strategic Value: This position serves as a dedicated academic support professional focused on helping students overcome barriers, strengthen academic skills, and achieve their educational goals through coordinated testing, tutoring, coaching, and student success initiatives.
Requirements
- Must support the mission, vision, and values of NDSCS.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Communications, Student Affairs, Behavioral Sciences, Liberal Arts, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing needs, and provide excellent customer service.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn other technology platforms used in student support environments.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse students, faculty, staff, and community partners., * Experience in teaching, academic advising, counseling, tutoring, student support services, or other educational settings focused on student learning and success.
- Experience administering or coordinating testing services, including proctored and accommodated testing.
- Experience teaching, tutoring or presenting to individuals and groups.
- Experience recruiting, training, supervising, and supporting student employees.
- Knowledge of student development theory, academic success strategies, and best practices in student support services.
- Experience with technology platforms related to student information systems (e.g. Campus Connection, Starfish, Blackboard)
- Master’s degree in Education, Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Benefits & conditions
SALARY: $55,000-$62,000, commensurate with education and experience, NDSCS offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes single or family health insurance coverage with premiums paid for by the College - with an effective date for new employees the first of the month following the date of hire. Other benefits include basic life insurance, annual and sick leave, retirement plan, tuition waiver, spouse/dependent tuition discount, and employee assistance program. Optional benefits include life, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending account, and supplemental retirement plans.
