Whatever your aspirations, we’re looking for engineers to be part of an exceptional technology capability, providing dedicated engineering capacity for our clients., As a Senior Data Engineer in Credera’s Delivery Centre capability, you’ll work as part of a close-knit team supporting one of our long-term client partnerships alongside architects, support engineers, and delivery leaders. Building on Credera’s reputation for engineering excellence, you’ll draw on broad delivery experience to optimise team outcomes and act as a recognised technical leader., As a senior delivery centre engineer you will lead significant areas of delivery or multiple workstreams with minimal supervision, working closely with client directors and delivery leads. You’ll lead multiple teams or pods, act as the primary escalation point for delivery and operational matters, and coach and mentor more junior engineers. You’ll be expected to be transparent, act with humility and collaborate well, setting standards for the wider team and continuously improving how delivery is done.

Requirements

You’ll have:

  • The ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across delivery teams, leadership and stakeholders, influencing decision-making and managing expectations
  • Experience of back-end / data engineering across a number of languages (including Python), and commonly used IDE’s
  • Experience with developing, scheduling, maintaining and resolving issues with batch or micro-batch jobs on AWS ETL or Azure ETL services
  • Experience querying data stored on AWS S3, or through a Lakehouse capability
  • Experience in managing API-level and Database connectivity
  • Experience using source control and DevOps tooling such as Gitlab
  • Experience in use of terraform (or similar cloud native products) to build new data & analytics platform capabilities
  • Experience supporting live service within a standard Service Management environment
  • Proven experience leading significant areas of delivery or multiple workstreams to time, cost and quality with minimal supervision
  • Experience leading multiple teams or pods and acting as the primary escalation point for delivery and operational matters
  • A track record of continuously evaluating and improving delivery processes to drive efficiency, quality and team capability
  • The ability to anticipate and mitigate delivery risks, addressing ambiguity through structured analysis to ensure delivery continuity and stability
  • Recognition as a subject matter expert or trusted operational lead, leveraging your internal network to connect teams with the right expertise and resources
  • You will be required to hold active SC clearance for this role.

Desirable skills

  • Experience automating operations tasks with one or more scripting languages.
  • Experience with developing data features and associated transformation procedures on a modern data platform. Examples include (but not limited to) Azure Fabric, AWS Lakeformation, Databricks or Snowflake.
  • Experience in configuring logging, alerting and managing observability of data jobs and pipelines using AWS or Azure services.
  • Experience with working with relational databases, such as PostGres, Oracle DB or MySQL
  • Experience working within a team, in an agile, iterative engineering environment.
  • Experience deploying and managing machine learning model deployments (MLOps) on appropriate services. Examples include (but not limited to) Azure Machine Learning, AWS Sagemaker, Databricks or Snowflake.
  • Experience using AI or Agentic techniques in application of the role through GitHub CoPilot, Claude Code, or equivalent.
  • A drive for self-improvement and building leadership capability, coaching and mentoring others to support their professional growth and performance.
  • Approach problem solving pragmatically, collaborating with senior stakeholders to agree actions and a route forward for major delivery or service challenges.
  • You’ll need to be perceptive, personable, culturally sensitive and demonstrate a high degree of emotional intelligence.
