Job description
In the role of Technical Specialist, weâll count on you to:
- Perform engineering assignments under the direct supervision of a licensed engineer
- Design tasks involving judgment in evaluating, selecting and applying engineering techniques and procedures
- Production of design drawings and construction documents through the use of computer aided design and other software
- Preparation of design or quantity calculations
- Preparation of specifications and contract documents
- Coordination with other disciplines as necessary
- Other duties as assigned by the supervising engineer
- Conduct analyses to develop power-related design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of project deliverables (examples include engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and project specifications)
- Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
- Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
- Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers / professionals on larger projects
- Work with assistance from Project Engineers, other Engineers In-Training (EITs), Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed
Requirements
- Bachelorâs degree in engineering
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary environments
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
LI-EV1, * Associateâs degree in engineering or related field of study or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in the discipline to be supported
- Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications specific to the discipline to be supported
- Knowledge of industry standards specific to the discipline being supported
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Good verbal and written communication skills
