Job description
We are looking for a Technical Service Data Engineer who would translate complex engineering specifications and 3D CAD data into high-precision repair procedures (Tasklists) within the ERP system. Acting as the bridge between Design Engineering and the Shop Floor, you ensure that every bolt, torque value, and Joint ID is accurately documented and maintained throughout the entire engineering change lifecycle., ERP Tasklist Authoring: Build and maintain detailed repair âTasklistsâ in the ERP. This includes mapping specific Part Numbers, Joint IDs, and critical assembly values (e.g., torque, sequence, etc).
CAD Data Extraction: Use CATIA to navigate complex assemblies, identify components, and verify spatial requirements for repairs. You arenât just looking at drawings; you are digging into the 3D environment to determine âwhat elseâ needs to be removed or replaced.
Change Management (CM): Act as the Data Agent for Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). When engineering shifts a design, you analyze the impact on existing repair procedures and manually update the ERP to ensure the shop floor always has the latest data.
Technical Documentation: Synthesize engineering jargon into clear, logical repair steps, similar to a Technical Writer but with the mechanical depth of a repair technician.
Requirements
Practical Repair Experience: You must have âhands-onâ background in a repair or overhaul environment to understand the practicalities of a workshop.
Software Proficiency: * CAD: Advanced navigation in CATIA (V5/V6) or similar high-end PLM software.
ERP: Experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar (specifically routing/tasklist modules).
Precision Mindset: An obsession with data accuracy-specifically regarding Torque Values and Joint IDs, where a typo can lead to mechanical failure.
Analytical Detective Work: Ability to look at a Change Order and intuitively know which 15 Tasklists across the system need to be adjusted.
Education & Experience Requirements
Education: Bachelorâs Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical).
Professional Experience: 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in a technical role, specifically within Repair & Overhaul (MRO) or heavy manufacturing environments.
Field Experience: Direct exposure to Repair Operations. You must understand the practical constraints of a workshop, such as tool accessibility, fastener galling, and safety protocols.
Systems Expertise:
ERP: Proven experience with SAP (PP/QM/PM modules), Oracle, or equivalent, focusing on master data, routings, and bill of materials (BOM).
PLM/CAD: Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 or 3DExperience for assembly navigation and part extraction., Analysis Skills, Bill of Materials (BOM), Bridge Building, CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing), CATIA CAD, Change Management, Change Requests/Orders, Civil Engineering, Component Assembly, Data Quality, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), Electricity, Engineering Change Order, Health Plan, Maintenance Services, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Oracle, Product Lifecycle Management, SAP, Technical Writing, Technical/Engineering Design, eCos
