Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Controller / Network Engineer to support a company focused on delivering mission-critical communications, network operations, and secure connectivity across the global Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN). This position is on-site at Scott AFB, IL, with additional opportunities available in Pearl Harbor, HI. The Network Controller / Network Engineer will provide operational support, monitoring, troubleshooting, implementation, and activation of mission-critical DoD network infrastructure while ensuring compliance with DISA standards. This role directly supports national defense missions by maintaining and enhancing the networks relied upon by warfighters and national leaders worldwide., * Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues across a live global DoD network using enterprise monitoring and management tools

  • Perform network configuration, implementation, testing, activation, and performance monitoring of network devices and services
  • Manage incident tickets, service orders, and change requests while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with operational procedures
  • Coordinate with customers, engineers, DISA stakeholders, vendors, and operations teams to support service activations and resolve network issues

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant network engineering, network operations, or NOC experience
  • Experience with Cisco and/or Juniper technologies, routers, switches, LAN/WAN environments, and IP-based transport networks
  • Knowledge of routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VLANs, VRFs, VPNs, TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS, along with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field preferred
  • Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance; TS/SCI preferred
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) required
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
