Join Moog’s Military Aircraft Group and help develop the next generation of flight control technologies for advanced military aircraft!
As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of high-performance hydraulic and electromechanical control systems, working across system architecture, requirements development, integration, verification, and validation activities. Partnering with multidisciplinary engineering teams across Moog and with external customers, you’ll help transform complex technical requirements into flight-critical solutions that support some of the world’s most advanced aerospace platforms.
This Systems Engineer has the opportunity to contribute throughout the product lifecycle while building expertise in the design, testing, and qualification of sophisticated aircraft control systems within a collaborative and innovative engineering environment.
As a Systems Engineer, you will:
- Contribute as a key technical member on a team of creative, independent individuals to develop, integrate, and verify complex hydraulic and electromechanical control systems.
- Coordinate/participate design product discussions across other development teams and Moog sites.
- Create and communicate design requirements.
- Support the identification and definition of Verification and Validation approaches for the system or subsystem.
- Develop verification plans and verification cross reference matrices (VCRM’s) for high performance control systems.
- Develop test plans and procedures in support of requirements verification and system qualification.
- Drive successful real-time system model integration, in order to support a variety of test environments at both system and unit level.
- Create test scripts to support automated testing of systems.
- Create concise reports to document test results, requirement verification, limitations and constraints.
- Support system- and subsystem-level integration and test, including any anomaly investigations.
- Travel 5-10% to other Moog sites and customer sites (primarily US based).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math, or Science Discipline.
- Three (3) or more years of professional work experience in the field of Engineering.
- Experience with requirements management; integration, test, modeling and simulation methods; and control system design and verification.
It’s preferred if you bring:
- Experience in the aerospace industry.
- Familiarity with Fault Management design and architecture development.
- Strengths in controls system design.
- Knowledge of aircraft flight control systems a plus.
- Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, and dSpace hardware for system performance and real-time modeling.
- Experience working with safety-critical systems including hardware and software.
- Proficiency with Python coding.

Salary Range Transparency: Torrance, CA $100,000.00-$135,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog’s total compensation package for employees.
