Job description
The successful candidate will contribute and grow their knowledge and understanding of System Engineering by performing technical assignments in support of our Deep Space Missions including OSIRIS-APEx, Lucy, Juno, MRO, and Odyssey. Specifically, the successful candidate will support:
- Spacecraft operations, planning and development
- Working with science and project teams and spacecraft subsystems to design and implement mission activities
- Real Time Operations, which involves interfacing with the Deep Space Network and radiation of commands to the spacecraft
The candidate will be empowered to take responsibility for their assigned tasks and associated contributions towards the success of the mission.
- Knowledge of interplanetary spacecraft and mission operations is desired.
- Strong organizational and communication skills are critical as this individual will work directly with subsystem leads and our NASA customer.
Requirements
Generally has 1+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline. ## Basic Qualifications (DSE Mission Ops)
- Bachelors degree in engineering, math, software, physics or a related degree from an accredited college
- Experience working in a team environment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, at a technical and non-technical level
Desired Skills (DSE Mission Ops)
- Basic understanding of spacecraft subsystems and operations
- Knowledge of interplanetary spacecraft and mission operations
- Experience with NASA customer
- Experience developing and using procedural documents
- Knowledge of Linux or Unix operating environment

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people. - Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
