Release Manager - Software Release

As a Release Manager within PNC’s Lending Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh PA, Dallas TX, Denver CO, Birmingham AL, Phoenix AZ or Strongsville OH.

PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position., We are seeking a Release Manager to drive the successful planning, coordination, and execution of technology releases across complex, cross-functional teams.

This role is critical to ensuring releases are delivered safely, predictably, and in compliance with enterprise standards, while supporting Agile and DevOps delivery models. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, a structured approach to risk and change management, and experience operating in production-critical environments., * Plan, coordinate, and manage end-to-end release activities across multiple teams and applications.

• Identifying potential risks to the release and developing mitigation strategies to ensure smooth deployment.
• Lead release and change management processes, ensuring adherence to enterprise governance and controls.
• Serve as a central point of coordination between engineering, QA, DevOps, operations, security, and business partners.
• Ensure production readiness, including validation of deployment plans, rollback strategies, testing completion, and operational support models.
• Identify, assess, and manage release risks, escalating issues and driving mitigation plans as needed.
• Support compliance requirements by ensuring proper documentation, approvals, and audit readiness.
• Coordinate vulnerability remediation efforts, partnering with security and engineering teams to ensure timely resolution prior to release.
• Communicate release status, risks, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders at varying levels of technical expertise., * Experience supporting large, distributed or regulated technology environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise release tools, change management platforms, or DevOps tooling.
• Background working closely with security, infrastructure, or operations teams.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required.
