Programmer/Developer

The Programmer/Developer in this role will be at the core of support for SOCOM data initiatives. The Programmer/Developer will work closely with stakeholders and colleagues to gather requirements and identify solutions for a variety of data related projects. The work in this role has a direct impact on the SOCOM mission as it improves the command’s ability to make data driven decisions., Programmer/Developers are responsible for providing programming services for a variety of specific systems and business, military, scientific, or commercial applications.

The Programmer/Developer shall perform the following tasks: Participate in systems analysis, design definition, software development, systems test, implementation, and maintenance. Analyze coding problems and develop improvements to procedures. Exercise independent judgment. Design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, and implement software code (such as HTML, CGI, and JavaScript) for a component of the website.

• Minimum of 1-year experience is required.
• Strong experience in several modern languages (JavaScript, Python, HTML, etc.) with expertise to design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, and implement high quality code.
• Experience in a wide variety of computing environments including cloud and containerized solutions.
• Cultivates a security first and test first approach to test-driven development.
• A Secret Clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with DoD
• Top Secret clearance eligible for SCI is preferred.
