Job description

Amentum is seeking a Program Engineer to work on Andros Island, Bahamas to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) project. The Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) mission is to provide Naval Warfare Centers, the Fleet, and other customers with accurate undersea, surface, and in-air three-dimensional tracking data and other unique Atlantic test facilities in support of Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), and Fleet readiness assessment and training. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

The Program Engineer is responsible for providing a point of contact for NUWC, U.S. Navy, and Contractor personnel in planning and conduct of daily range testing for the AUTEC project., * Interface with/provide support to/and be the point-of-contact for NUWCDETAUTEC Test Program Managers in matters relating to the planning, asset and personnel scheduling, and execution of all tests/programs.

  • Evaluate actual test support requirements and determine the best method(s) for accomplishing all aspects of each test/program.
  • Match test support, data collection, data processing, and data analysis requirements with existing AUTEC capabilities in order to satisfy specific customer needs or define new capabilities or additional resources if required.
  • Schedule/commit Contractor assets/other Contractor personnel, and Contractor controlled AUTEC resources needed to support AUTEC’s test workload and be responsible for coordinating/assuring that such commitments are met.
  • Identify what/when/where specific test assets and other requisite support will be needed to meet Range User requirements and generate an Operations Directive that describes test objective(s), security classification requirements, technical test procedures, data requirements, time schedules, environmental impact mitigation, and record keeping requirements per applicable guidelines, etc.
  • Update the range schedule daily (or as needed) to reflect on-going changes in Range User schedules/requirements as provided by NUWC.
  • As required, develop, promulgate, and maintain Test Plans for on-going or long-term test programs.
  • Communicate specific test support requirements and schedules to all cognizant groups within the Contractor’s internal organization.
  • Perform on-going liaison with such groups as required to ensure readiness to execute all scheduled test support operations and functions.
  • Submit and track required Purchase Orders/requisitions.
  • Arrange for: any necessary shore facility or other test asset preparation/modification; the proper staging, of any Range User materials/equipment shipped to AUTEC, at the specified test site; the proper handling, accounting, and disposal of any HAZMAT/HAZWASTE in accordance with stated requirements.
  • Upon test/program completion, ensure all Range User materials/equipment are returned and that all AUTEC assets/facilities are restored to their original condition unless otherwise directed by NUWC.
  • As required, arrange for/coordinate all pre and post-test logistic support functions.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, * 5 years of project or program management experience preferably in direct support of Test and Range Operations.

  • BS/BA degree in Science, Business, Project Management or equivalent.
  • Military service in a technical field involving large scale test operations may be considered in place of the degree.
  • Computer literacy in a Windows environment. Must be able to produce documentation using Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills required.
  • Excellent customer relations/interface skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills for prioritizing and coordinating workload.
  • Works independently and as a part of a team with contractor, Range User, Navy and NUWC personnel.
  • Must be able to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Must be flexible, professional and decisive in coping with changes in real-time environment.
  • Close vision of computer screens/monitors.
  • Must be able to walk up and down short stairwell (1 floor).
  • Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.
  • A valid U.S. passport and driver’s license is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of In-Water, In-Air tracking systems, acoustic tracking systems, communications systems, and/or data processing preferred.
  • Five years of project or program management experience in direct support of Test and Range operations, such as Test Conductor, FORACS Engineer, Acoustics Engineer, System Controller, Range Safety Advisor, or supervisor level experience in Marine Services, Range Services, or Support Services.
