Job description

SMS is hiring a Network Administrator, Mid to support our Base Infrastructure (BIM) contract at McConnell AFB, KS. This position will provide Network Operations Center (NOC) support from forward-deployed locations ensuring continuity of NOC operations and distributed network management capabilities., * Serves as backup NOC operations capability providing redundancy for centralized NOC functions

  • Monitors assigned network infrastructure and systems from remote locations
  • Coordinates with primary NOC personnel ensuring seamless handoff of monitoring and management responsibilities

  • Provides NOC management decision-making support during primary NOC disruptions or contingency situations

  • Performs network monitoring, incident response, and troubleshooting activities independently
  • Maintains proficiency with all NOC tools, processes, and procedures
  • Supports distributed operations model enabling resilient network management during crisis or disaster recovery scenarios

  • Coordinates with on-site base personnel for localized network issues
  • Ensures continuous network monitoring coverage and operational awareness
  • Participates in NOC training and readiness activities
  • Maintains secure communications and coordination channels with primary NOC

Requirements

  • Possesses Bachelor’s degree in information technology, network engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of Network Operations Center or Network Administration experience
  • Cisco CCNA requred
  • CompTIA Security+ required
  • DoD Secret security clearance required
