Torch Technologies Inc., is seeking a Software System Engineer to join our team to support the Program Acquisition Executive (PAE) Fires Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. This role will support the Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Mission Command Product Office and routinely coordinate with US military, civilians, and contractors to bridge between overarching System of Systems (SoS) integration and interfaces and tactical software development. The ideal candidate is analytical and detail-orientated with the ability to learn a highly complex and diverse operational domain and develop system-level engineering products to define, outline, and verify system behavior, performance, and acceptance criteria necessary to support SW development teams.
The candidate must have experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE); logical, behavioral, and acceptance criteria modeling; and use-case and activity diagram generation to include proficiency with MagicDraw or an equivalent modeling toolset. Additionally, the candidate should have experience working in an Agile engineering environment, such as under the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), to include Sprint and Program Increment (PI) Planning and Execution as well as experience with work management tools, such as Jira/Confluence.
At a minimum you should have:
- US Citizenship.
- Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a related STEM field or equivalent experience.
- Ten (10) or more years of system engineering or related experience.
- A strong technical background with experience in at least one of the following areas: tactical command and control systems, tactical weapon systems, tactical sensor systems, hardware, embedded software, real-time software, near real-time software, or distributed software.
- A strong background in requirements decomposition, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Modular Open Systems Architecture, and use case development.
- Proficiency in MagicDraw.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office toolset.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively interface with various levels of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
- A strong work ethic with demonstrated ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.
- Experience working with both development staff and end users.
- An active SECRET security clearance and the ability to maintain this clearance.
You will be highly desirable if you have:
- A master’s degree in systems engineering.
- Previous experience with the Army Air and Missile Defense Command and Control (C2) systems, such as Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS), Patriot, FAAD C2, and ADAM.
- Previous experience with the integration of C2 Systems in a System of Systems architecture.
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®) experience.
