Job description
Torch Technologies is seeking an analytical Senior Systems Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Modeling & Simulation (M&S) System Integration team. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in analyzing test and evaluation criteria and data, supporting the operations of integration, test, and analysis groups. Your primary objective will be to recommend and collaborate with software engineering on an integrated system capable of efficiently managing and analyzing complex information obtained during various test events.
In addition to technical systems engineering, you will analyze the daily operations across various integration, test, and analysis groups to recommend, architect, and design software automation tools. These tools will manage critical operational data, including personnel information, hardware assignments and configuration, and travel coordination.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Data & Criteria Analysis: Analyze complex test and evaluation criteria and data to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and effectiveness of MDA modeling and simulation systems.
- System Design & Integration:Define high-level architecture and system requirementsfor an integrated framework to securely manage, process, and analyze information obtained during each simulation and test event.
- Operational Analysis: Analyze the daily operations and workflows of various engineering, test, and analysis groups to identify process bottlenecks, data silos, and opportunities for modernization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface daily with multi-disciplinary teams, including software engineers, test engineers, and data analysts, to ensure cohesive system integration and test execution.
- Software Automation Design: Collaborate with software development teams to recommend and define technical requirements for automation tools that streamline:
- Physical and virtual hardware asset allocation and configurations.
- Resource planning, engineering staff metrics, and travel coordination workflows
- Technical Reporting: Document system architectures, test methodologies, and evaluation results. Present findings and actionable recommendations to MDA stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify capability gaps within current M&S frameworks and propose innovative engineering solutions to enhance simulation fidelity and analysis speed.
- Requirements Development: Develop system and application requirements IAW MIL-STD-961.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelorâs degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline AND 10 years of progressive experience in systems engineering,
- OR Masterâs degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline AND 8 years of progressive experience in systems engineering,
- systems architecture, or business process automation, preferably within the Department of Defense (DoD) or MDA.
- Active Secret security clearance
- Proven experience working with Modeling & Simulation (M&S) tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Proven experience analyzing business processes or daily operations to recommend software automation systems or data management tools.
- Strong capabilities in data analytics, data structure analysis, and data visualization.
- Experience developing CONOPS, requirements, and test cases.
- Strong technical writing, reporting, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently while delivering high-quality solutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:

Proven experience with Service Now, Jira administration, Confluence, and SharePoint.
