Job description
My client is looking for a Workday Integration & Systems Lead to take responsibility for the technical set-up and integration environment of their HR platform. This role sits at the heart of their People Technology function, ensuring all data flows and connected systems work seamlessly, performance is consistently high, and new functionality is implemented without disruption.
The successful applicant will be the primary technical contact for the platform, combining deep hands-on expertise with the ability to plan ahead for future enhancements and evolving business needs.
What you’ll be doing
- Build, configure, and support a range of Workday integrations, from Workday Studio and EIB to connectors and custom API links.
- Take charge of the platform’s upgrade schedule, preparing and testing integrations ahead of each release.
- Work alongside internal tech teams, external partners, and HR process owners to deliver solutions that fit business priorities.
- Act as the in-house expert, sharing technical knowledge with colleagues and offering practical guidance when needed.
- Quickly identify and resolve issues, keeping downtime to a minimum.
- Make sure all activity is compliant with internal security rules and any relevant legislation.
- Develop improvement plans to boost speed, capacity, and system resilience.
- Keep clear, detailed records of system configurations, integrations, and workflows.
Requirements
- At least five years’ experience working on Workday integrations and system configuration.
- Strong proficiency with Workday Studio, EIB, connectors, and API development.
- Demonstrable history of managing build projects and coordinating Workday upgrades.
- A clear understanding of integration design and technical frameworks.
- Working knowledge of XML, XSLT, JSON, and similar tools used for HR system development.
- Experience running and reviewing integration tests during changes or releases.
- Solid grasp of security, access controls, and compliance considerations.
- Logical problem solver who can tackle complex issues.
- Skilled communicator, comfortable working with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple streams of work.
- High attention to accuracy and detail in every stage of delivery.
- Comfortable adjusting to new tools, processes, and priorities.
Nice to have
- Experience working within a large, multi-site organisation.
- Exposure to other HRIS platforms or enterprise software.
- Awareness of wider IT architecture and cloud-based integration methods.
- Involvement in setting or influencing systems strategy.
- Relevant technical or Workday certifications.
