Job description

Insight Global is seeking a Secret Network Engineer. In this role, you will support network build-out and deployments to the operational environment as needed. Working within an agile scrum team, the engineer will plan work based on customer requirements and program contractual agreements. Key responsibilities include planning, deploying, integrating, and testing network upgrades to operational sites, as well as traveling to remote locations to lead and perform network installations, independently troubleshoot issues, and provide status updates to program personnel.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related network engineering experience (post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline preferred)
  • Active government Secret security clearance
  • IAT Level II 8570-compliant certification (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, or equivalent)
  • CCNA or JNCIA certification
  • Hands-on mid-level experience in network design, development, and testing methodologies
  • Strong understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, and routing protocols (BGP and OSPF)
  • Network traffic analysis, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
  • Firewall experience, particularly with Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto
  • Experience with UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs
  • Ability and willingness to travel to remote/operational sites for installations, troubleshooting, and deployments - Hands-on experience with multi-vendor switching and routing (Juniper, Cisco), WAN optimizers, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Visio)
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, agile environment
  • Knowledge of standard DoD security practices (STIG compliance and system accreditation)
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (NFV, SD-WAN, VMware, VMware Cloud Foundation, NSX, vSAN, Aria)
  • Experience with network automation using Ansible
