Job description
As a Tagging and Inventory Technician, you’ll be responsible for performing inspections on various types of facilities in the Oil and Gas Industry to identify and quantify hydrocarbon gas leaks and vents at offshore facilities., * Assisting in coordinating and navigating to various facilities with maps and GPS
- Helping to calibrate and maintain equipment
- Using various detection and measurement technologies under the supervision of the Team Lead
- Collecting and recording emission data
- Preparing field reports as required
Requirements
- Experience in Oil and Gas industry (preference given to candidates with natural gas processing/transmission facility experience)
- Effective computer skills (Excel and Microsoft Office are essential) and proficiency with Android OS
- Experience leading a team preferred/required, depending on the position
- Must be able to communicate clearly and precisely
- Offshore and/or military experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license
- Preference will be given to candidates with an associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or applicable technical degree/diploma; related work experience in hydrocarbon detection and measurement, LDAR, Offshore, instrumentation or stack emission testing or a mechanical background are also preferred, but not required
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Must be willing and able to work on ocean/offshore sites for periods of up to 2-3 weeks at a time.
- Must be clean-shaven where required for safety/PPE purposes.
- Must be able to successfully complete swing-rope certification, including demonstrating the ability to safely support and control loads equivalent to approximately 2-3 times the individual’s body weight due to the forces generated during the swing
- Responsible for participating in all required safety training and assisting with safety procedures, including first aid, CPR, fire drills, and emergency evacuations
- Must be able to perform job duties onshore and/or offshore, including transportation by company vehicle, helicopter, and/or boat
- Must be able to communicate clearly and precisely
- Must be able to work safely in extreme environments, including cold, heat, wind, rain, and open-ocean conditions
- Must be able to safely ascend and descend structures up to approximately 200 feet in height and remain physically capable of performing required job duties after climbing
- Position requires significant physical exertion, including climbing stairs and ladders, carrying heavy equipment, working at heights, and potentially working in confined spaces
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Benefits & conditions
The compensation range for this role is $21 - $23/hr. commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.
