Principal Network Engineer (Operations)

Seeking a Principal Engineer, Network Operations to serve as the highest technical escalation point within the network organization. This individual will be responsible for maintaining the reliability, performance, and standardization of a large-scale network environment consisting of approximately 56,000 devices. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in Routing, Switching, Wireless, Network Operations, and Infrastructure Lifecycle Management, with hands-on experience leading upgrades, maintaining Golden Configurations, resolving complex outages, and driving automation initiatives using tools such as Python, Ansible, and Azure DevOps.

• 10+ years of Network Engineering experience supporting large enterprise environments

• Experience with Routing, Switching, and Wireless networking experience

• Strong Network Operations experience supporting and optimizing existing infrastructure rather than designing new environments

• Experience leading network upgrades, maintenance windows, and lifecycle management initiatives

• Experience evaluating software releases, understanding bugs/features, and determining upgrade strategies

• Experience creating, maintaining, and enforcing standardized “Golden Configurations” across enterprise environments

• Hands-on Cisco and Aruba networking experience

• Experience supporting WAN, LAN, WiFi, and Firewall technologies

• Experience performing root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and long-term remediation of network issues

• Experience remediating security vulnerabilities, audit findings, and configuration-related risks

• Exposure to Python, Ansible, and Azure DevOps for network automation and configuration management

• Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership within an engineering organization
