Job description

ROLE OVERVIEW The Senior Solution Architect will support manufacturing and digital technology initiatives across Insight Global client’s global manufacturing footprint. This individual will work with plant IT, OT teams, infrastructure, cybersecurity, engineering, vendors, and business stakeholders to understand proposed solutions and create end-to-end architecture designs that align with Tenneco standards. The primary objective is translating complex manufacturing technology requirements into clear, implementable solution architectures and technical documentation.

DAY TO DAY

  • Lead discovery sessions with manufacturing stakeholders, plant teams, and vendors

  • Analyze new applications, manufacturing technologies, and digital initiatives

  • Create high-level and detailed solution architecture diagrams

  • Define integrations, data flows, APIs, connectivity requirements, and system dependencies

  • Design architectures spanning cloud, on-prem infrastructure, OT environments, edge devices, and enterprise platforms

  • Evaluate vendor solutions and identify architecture gaps, risks, assumptions, and constraints

  • Work with cybersecurity, IAM, networking, and infrastructure teams on solution design

  • Support manufacturing technologies including MES, plant systems, robotics, IoT, edge computing, and analytics platforms

  • Present architecture recommendations to Enterprise Architecture and Architecture Review Boards

Maintain architecture documentation throughout the solution lifecycle

Requirements

  • 8+ years of Solution Architecture, Systems Architecture, Technical Consulting, or Enterprise Application Design experience

  • Strong manufacturing, industrial, plant technology, or OT (Operational Technology) experience

  • Experience designing end-to-end enterprise solutions across applications, infrastructure, integrations, security, identity, cloud, and networking

  • Architecture diagramming/documentation expertise (Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of APIs, integration patterns, data flows, and system dependencies

  • Cloud & hybrid cloud architecture experience (AWS and/or Azure)

  • Enterprise networking knowledge (firewalls, VLANs, routing, DNS, segmentation, ports/protocols)

  • Identity & access management knowledge (SSO, Entra ID, SAML, OAuth, OIDC, RBAC)

  • Experience facilitating technical discovery sessions with business stakeholders, vendors, and engineering teams

Ability to translate business requirements and vendor solutions into implementable target-state architectures PLUSSES

  • Automotive manufacturing experience

  • MES, WMS/WES, robotics, AGVs/AMRs, Industrial IoT, edge computing, machine connectivity, vision systems, or plant analytics experience

  • SAP ECC/S4 integration experience

  • Industrial protocols (OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, Industrial Ethernet)

  • Enterprise architecture governance / Architecture Review Board experience

  • TOGAF, ArchiMate, LeanIX, Ardoq experience

Cybersecurity, IAM, data privacy, and enterprise governance exposure

Benefits & conditions

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages while on contract for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
