Job description

We’re looking for a senior Unity developer to help build and maintain a high-performance, browser-based multiplayer application with integrated blockchain functionality. This role requires someone who is comfortable owning features across the Unity client, multiplayer networking, backend services, and Web3 integrations.

You’ll work in a small engineering team where you’ll have direct ownership over architecture, implementation, optimization, and deployment.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain advanced Unity applications targeting WebGL.
  • Design, implement, and iterate on gameplay features and game systems from concept through release.
  • Build intuitive, polished, and engaging player experiences with a strong focus on gameplay quality.
  • Optimize browser performance, memory usage, loading times, and frame rate.
  • Build and maintain real-time multiplayer systems using Photon (PUN), MFPS, or similar networking frameworks.
  • Integrate blockchain wallets, smart contracts, and digital asset transactions.
  • Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Implement secure client-server communication and anti-tampering systems.
  • Manage remote content delivery using Unity Addressables.
  • Profile, debug, and optimize production applications.
  • Collaborate with a small team to deliver features quickly and maintain high code quality.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional Unity development experience.
  • Expert-level C# programming skills.
  • Strong experience shipping Unity applications.
  • Proven experience implementing gameplay mechanics, player systems, UI, and game features.
  • Experience with WebGL development and browser optimization.
  • Experience building real-time multiplayer applications.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, latency, synchronization, and client/server architecture.
  • Experience integrating Web3 technologies, including blockchain wallets, smart contracts, and digital asset transactions.
  • Experience with Git and collaborative software development.
  • Excellent debugging and performance optimization skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Photon PUN, Fusion, Mirror, or Unity Netcode.
  • Working knowledge of Solana, wallet adapters, SPL tokens, or blockchain APIs.
  • Experience with Node.js and TypeScript backend development.
  • Familiarity with serverless architecture and cloud-based APIs.
  • Experience implementing security, anti-cheat, or fraud prevention systems.
  • Comfortable working across both client and backend systems in a fast-moving startup environment., We’re looking for an experienced engineer who enjoys building great games as much as solving difficult technical challenges. The ideal candidate can take a feature from idea to implementation-designing gameplay systems, writing clean, maintainable code, optimizing performance, and shipping polished experiences. They should be comfortable working across Unity, multiplayer networking, backend services, and Web3 technologies while taking ownership in a fast-moving startup environment.

Benefits & conditions

Pay: £10.00-£25.00 per hour
