Job description

Our passionate team of startup serial entrepreneurs (Erik, Toon, Eric and Chris) created lex.be, a new innovative legal search platform based in Brussels. Lex.be aims to disrupt the traditional legal industry with new tools to enhance transparency, provide better insights and increase efficiency of the legal profession, while making a positive impact on society. Lex.be enables companies, citizens and legal pros to easily find relevant info to gain legal insights., You will have a central role in ensuring that our on-line platform and services offer a high quality front-end technical implementation with an optimal user experience.

Requirements

  • University level (or equivalent) or Bachelor with relevant experience
  • Modern PHP Framework experience (Symfony2, Laravel, …)
  • Strong knowledge of UI/UX design to create beautiful responsive interfaces
  • Passionate about open data, big data and legal data
  • Mastering ā€œprogressiveā€ web technologies (HTML5, CSS3)
  • Modern javascript experience (Javascript, jQuery, node.js, Angular, Ember, React, Backbone, …)
  • Knowledge in Java / Groovy, Grails is a plus
  • A desire to write scalable, efficient, maintainable code
  • Able to work independently in a complex, dynamic environment
  • Must crave for an agile development environment (Scrum)
  • A love for finding creative and thoughtful solutions to a variety of technical and product challenges
  • Fluent in English (a bit of Dutch and French wouldn’t harm either)
  • Start-up minded and willing to work in an innovative entrepreneurial atmosphere
