Job description

Rugby Borough Council are on an exciting digitalisation journey as we develop, optimise and scale AI assisted tooling and automated workflows to help drive efficiency, cost savings and maximise productivity.

As our Automation and Data Engineer, you will play a key role in making this happen, helping to shape how we modernise the way the Council works.

You’ll design, build and maintain automated workflows and data solutions which reduce manual workload, generate cost avoidance and savings, enable data-led decision making across the Council and deliver AI-assisted tooling and automation use cases

Requirements

You’ll bring experience automation or data engineering functions within a complex organisation with a track record of delivering measurable transformation.

You’ll have:

  • Experience of designing and implementing automated workflows (e.g. RPA, scripts, integrations)
  • Experience of data engineering / ETL processes (e.g. SQL, scripting languages, data pipelines)
  • Ability to analyse and map business processes and translate them into technical requirements
  • Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
