Job description

24 hours/week Monday-Wednesday, * Participate in requirement analysis along with the team
  • Execute on new features and improvement projects in our React Native app
  • Contribute to feature work and improvements on our Next.js website alongside your mobile work
  • Translate comps and wireframes into component execution and delivery plans
  • Estimate complexity of tasks when new projects are brought to the team
  • Use Claude Code as part of your daily development workflow, and critically review all AI-generated code for correctness, performance, and maintainability before it ships

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of professional experience developing with JavaScript and modern component-based frameworks, with React Native as your primary strength and working proficiency in ReactJS for the web
  • React Native (primary): Experience and an understanding of developing with and debugging React Native and the npm/package management
  • React/Next.js web (secondary, but required): Comfortable building and maintaining production web features with React; Next.js experience (routing, SSR/SSG, performance) is a strong plus
  • AI-assisted development: Hands-on experience with Claude Code or similar agentic coding tools (Cursor, Copilot, etc.). You are comfortable directing them effectively, validating their output, and knowing when to rely on them versus writing code yourself. We use Claude Code heavily, so direct experience with it is a strong plus
  • Android app development: Some proficiency with Android App development and tools. Experience with the Google release process and setup of the Android Development Environment
  • iOS app development: Some proficiency with iOS App development and tools. Experience with the Apple release process and setting up the iOS Development Environment which is a lot more involved than Android. Proficiency in Certificate management and renewals
  • Bitrise: Familiarity with automated build systems such as Bitrise (or Jenkins)
  • CSS: Experience doing UI work with CSS
  • Maintain and enhance existing code quality, organization, and automation
  • Have strong writing and communication skills for documenting technical requirements and coordinating with other teams
  • Identify and resolve performance concerns and look for opportunities to reduce technical debt
  • Experience with collaborative design tools such as Figma or Sketch

Extras:

  • Experience tailoring Claude Code to a team’s workflow, such as CLAUDE.md conventions, custom skills/commands, or MCP integrations
  • Swift and Objective-C: For occasional work in iOS native code
  • Kotlin and Java: For occasional work in Android native code
  • Firebase: Experience using Google tools such as Remote Config and A/B tooling would help.
  • Sentry or Crashlytics: Experience debugging using external analytic tools
  • Experience with Bitrise/Jenkins/Codefresh
  • Experience with offline mobile functionality
  • Experience with elasticsearch
  • Can do performance tuning of app and database code
  • Ability to accurately estimate feature complete work including documentation and testing
  • Ability to validate timescales defined by a product owner
