SVP, Technology - Platforms and Solutions - Virtual

Reporting to the CTO, this leader is accountable for the end-to-end engineering and evolution of Alight’s core technology platforms and solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, modern, and aligned to business strategy. The role serves as a critical bridge between Product, Engineering, Delivery, and Data/AI leadership, translating business priorities into cohesive platform and solution capabilities.

As a core member of the Technology Leadership Team, this executive will partner closely with Product leadership, Delivery leadership, SVP of Strategic Programs, Data, and AI, and VP, Infrastructure, Ops and Architecture to drive integrated outcomes across platforms, data, and client solutions, ensuring a consistent client experience while accelerating innovation at scale. This role operates at enterprise scale, spanning all client-facing products and platforms globally, and owns the technology realization of all product solutions, ensuring consistency in architecture, engineering standards, and platform leverage across product lines.

Purpose & Strategic Outcomes

• Establish a cohesive, scalable platform and solution architecture across all product lines
• Drive modernization and simplification of the technology landscape, reducing fragmentation
• Ensure platforms deliver reliable, secure, and cost-efficient client outcomes at enterprise scale
• Act as the senior executive counterpart to transformation leadership, balancing stability with change
• Enable faster product innovation and delivery through reusable platforms and services
• Ensure client-facing solutions are reliable, secure, and differentiated

Core Accountabilities

Platforms & Solution Engineering

• Own end-to-end engineering of Alight’s client-facing platforms and solutions across Health, Navigation, Wealth, and Leaves
• Drive standardization and reuse through shared platform capabilities and components
• Ensure platforms are designed for scale, performance, resiliency, and extensibility
• Lead simplification, consolidation, and technical debt reduction initiatives
• Ensure all platforms are secure by design and compliant with enterprise standards
• Define and execute a platform-first strategy, shifting from siloed solutions to reusable, composable enterprise capabilities

Product, Delivery & Data/AI Alignment

• Partner closely with Product leadership to translate product strategy into scalable platform capabilities
• Partner with Delivery leadership to ensure solutions are deployable, operable, and scalable in production
• Collaborate closely with the SVP of Strategic Programs, Data, and AI to:
• Align platform strategy with enterprise data and AI capabilities
• Enable AI/GenAI-powered client experiences and operational efficiency
• Ensure tight integration between platforms, data architecture, and AI services
• Partner closely with Infrastructure, Operations, and architecture leadership to ensure seamless build-to-run handoff, production readiness, and ongoing operability of all platforms

Client & Revenue Impact

• Own technology platforms that directly support client delivery, member experience, and revenue growth
• Partner with SVP of Strategic Programs in client engagements involving platform capabilities, roadmap, and innovation
• Ensure technology solutions meet SLAs, performance expectations, and contractual commitments

Leadership & Organizational Impact

• Build and lead a high-performing organization across:
• Platform engineering
• Solution engineering by product line
• Establish clear accountability across platform, product, data, and delivery functions
• Develop senior leadership talent and succession
• Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, engineering excellence, and client focus

• Platform scalability, performance, and reliability across all client-facing systems
• Speed of product delivery driven by platform reuse and standardization

• 20+ years of technology leadership experience in large-scale, enterprise environments
• Proven experience leading platform engineering and client-facing solutions at scale
• Experience background in modern technology architectures (cloud, APIs, microservices, data platforms, AI/ML)
• Experience owning technology across multiple product lines or domains
• Demonstrated ability to operate in matrixed environments with senior stakeholders
• Track record of driving platform-led transformation and modernization

Salary Pay Range

Minimum : 230,000.00 USD

Maximum : 275,000.00 USD
