Data Analysis Systems Engineering Batch Processing Python (Programming Language) Software Requirements Analysis

Job description

SpaceLocker is seeking a junior systems engineer to join our systems and hardware team. You’ll take part in writing and tracking requirements and designs for our missions, working with Engineering and Project Managers to drive the definition, integration and operations of our projects, mostly on commercial missions.

Your missions

In this position you will:

  • Own and structure system requirements across our missions (consistency, traceability, alignment with customer needs),
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation (budgets, ICDs, verification plans, review packages…),
  • Support mission engineering from early analysis to flight operations (phase 0 to E), including payload compatibility,
  • Coordinate interfaces between internal teams and external partners, and prepare key reviews (MRR, PDR, CDR, acceptance) and IVVQ activities,
  • Support satellite operations and in-orbit data analysis.

Requirements

Hard skills

  • Fresh graduate from a top-tier engineering school or university, in systems/space engineering or a related STEM field,
  • You understand system-level constraints (mass, power, data, interfaces) and can contribute to budgets and make-buy trade-offs,
  • Comfortable with structured technical documentation and review-driven environments (PDR/CDR…),
  • Experience with mission design tools (STK, IDM-CIC) or verification processes is a plus,
  • Solid Python is a strong plus (batch processing, optimization, workflow automation),
  • Fluent in English

Soft skills

  • Hands-on and autonomous - startup life is messy, and unexpected topics will come your way,
  • You can communicate results, including to a non-technical public,
  • Solid knowledge of satellite subsystems and space mission concepts,
  • Passionate about space, with a genuine culture of the sector.

About the company

SpaceLocker makes satellite missions more efficient and sustainable through in-orbit payload hosting: any organization can send sensors or experiments into space without worrying about the technical side, while gaining performance and reducing emissions and debris. Our technology stack, combining proprietary hardware with cloud-inspired software, creates a true “space USB” with revolutionary plug-and-play.

Far from dog-picture blockchains or lunar hotels, we are building a solid company, a foundation for the next era of space exploration, driven by technical expertise, rapid prototyping, and a direct link to the market.

SpaceLocker is committed to diversity and inclusion - age, gender, origin, disability (with a slight irony, our founding team being the most “average white guys” imaginable ). Progress and inclusion require real effort and compromise, not just words.
