Job description

After completing induction, the majority of this role can be undertaken from home, with office attendance generally limited to one or two days per month.

At St Margaret’s Hospice, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re looking for an HR Systems and Data Lead to help us maximise the value of our HR technology, workforce data and digital processes, ensuring they support an exceptional employee experience and enable high-quality patient care.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys combining systems expertise, data insight and process improvement to deliver meaningful organisational impact.

You’ll play a key role in shaping how we use people systems and workforce information to support informed decision-making, service improvement and a just and compassionate approach to people management

What can you expect to be doing?

As our HR Systems and Data Lead, you’ll lead the development and optimisation of HR systems, workforce reporting and people analytics. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you’ll identify opportunities to improve processes, increase automation and provide meaningful workforce insights.

While this is a systems and data-focused role, success will depend on your ability to understand HR operations, employee processes and organisational priorities, ensuring technology solutions are practical, people-centred and add real value.

Your day to day job will involve:

  • Acting as the subject matter expert for HR systems and workforce data.
  • Leading system development, upgrades, enhancements and integrations.
  • Driving continuous improvement, automation and digitalisation of HR processes.
  • Ensuring workforce data is accurate, secure, accessible and well-governed.
  • Producing high-quality reports, dashboards and workforce insights.
  • Identifying trends, risks and opportunities through data analysis.
  • Working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to maximise system performance.
  • Promoting best practice in HR systems, data governance and reporting.
  • Supporting the delivery of a fair, compassionate and evidence-based people strategy

Requirements

  • Significant experience of HR systems administration, development and optimisation.
  • Strong workforce data, reporting and people analytics experience.
  • A good understanding of HR processes and the employee lifecycle.
  • Experience of process improvement, automation and digital transformation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • A commitment to accuracy, data quality and continuous improvement.
  • A passion for using technology and insight to improve both organisational performance and employee experience
