Job description

Our client is a world leader in missile and missile systems, seeking an adaptable Embedded Software Engineer to join their growing Software team in Bristol. As part of their growing dynamic Software team, you will develop the latest mission-critical defence systems. You’ll be developing critical missile control software, contributing across the full Software Development Life Cycle. You will work as part of a medium-sized team and be empowered to work individually with little supervision., * Development on Linux of Embedded Real-Time software using Rhapsody & C++ in a multi-threaded Application to software requirements & ICDs.

  • Writing unit/functional tests and conduct integration testing with the target hardware.
  • Adhering to the agreed Project Planning and Project Quality processes.
  • Use JIRA for project management and issue tracking
  • The role will involve working within a lab environment running software on target hardware.

Requirements

  • Significant experience of developing and debugging Real time Software applications using C++.
  • Considerable experience of Rhapsody UML or other model-driven development tool.
  • Extensive experience in developing functional and integration tests as well as simulation and hardware testing.
  • Proven experience of developing and testing software to requirements and ICD’s.
  • Competent with MS Office tools/DOORS, for reviewing and updating technical documentation.
  • Working understanding of configuration management tools such as RTC/EWM.
  • Knowledge of Python / Ada / FreeRTOS would be highly beneficial.
  • Due to the nature of this project the right behaviours are important; can-do attitude, proactive & adaptable and strong communicator.
