Job description
We are seeking a Test Lead / SDET to support platform stability, reliability, automation, and production operations. This role will partner with cross-functional teams to improve resilient systems, troubleshoot production issues, strengthen observability, and apply site reliability engineering best practices.
In This Role, You Will
- Lead end-to-end delivery of Digital/eCommerce initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities, sprint goals, and release commitments.
- Serve as the primary on-site liaison between Business, Product, Engineering, QA, DevOps, Architecture, vendors, and offshore teams.
- Drive Agile execution by facilitating sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, reviews, retrospectives, and release planning.
- Coordinate cross-functional dependencies, manage risks and blockers, and drive timely issue resolution across multiple workstreams.
- Define and oversee quality engineering, test strategy, defect governance, release validation, and production readiness activities.
- Lead automation adoption using Playwright and Java, while promoting API testing, CI/CD integration, and modern engineering best practices; Python experience is a plus.
- Monitor delivery metrics, quality KPIs, resource utilization, deployments, and post-release support while mentoring teams on Agile and automation best practices.

- Retail - Digital Commerce / eCommerce domain experience.
- Agile Delivery and Scrum leadership.
- Stakeholder, Vendor, and On-site-Offshore Coordination.
- Quality Engineering, Test Management, and Defect Governance.
- Automation framework design and transformation initiatives.
- Test Automation using Playwright and Java.
- API Testing, Microservices Testing, and CI/CD integration.
- Release Management, UAT, Production Deployment, and Hypercare Support.
- Good-to-Have Skills
- Python for automation and engineering solutions.
- AI/LLM and AI-driven Quality Engineering exposure.
Benefits & conditions
The annual salary for this position is between $80,000 - $91,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans., Cognizant offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:
