Job description

The Application Analyst - Ancillary (Beaker Clinical Pathology) serves as the primary support contact for end-users of Epic software specializing in Beaker Clinical Pathology. This role involves identifying and troubleshooting issues that arise within the application area, as well as those affecting other application teams, and working collaboratively to resolve them. The analyst will guide workflow design, build and test the system, and address technical issues related to Epic software. They will also handle the implementation of system changes based on user requests, acting as a liaison between end users’ workflow needs and the Epic implementation team. Regular communication with Epic representatives is key, including participation in weekly project meetings. The analyst works closely with the organization’s business community and end-users to ensure the system aligns with business needs, project deliverables, and timelines. By attending site visits and integrated sessions, the analyst develops a deep understanding of operational requirements and sets the direction for workflow development. This role includes troubleshooting, providing training to end-users, and maintaining regular status updates with leadership on project progress, deliverables, and concerns., * Acting as the primary support contact for the application’s end-users

  • Identifying issues that arise in their application area as well as issues that impact other application teams and working to resolve them

  • Guiding workflow design, building and testing the system, and analyzing other technical issues associated with Epic software

  • Identifying and implementing requested changes to the system

  • Serving as a liaison between end users’ workflow needs and Epic implementation staff

  • Maintaining regular communication with Epic representatives, including participating in weekly project team meetings

  • Working with Epic representatives, your organization’s business community, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization’s business needs in regards to the project deliverables and timeline

  • Developing an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization’s workflows by attending site visits and other integrated sessions

  • Participating in training and working with end users

  • Troubleshooting problems and questions

  • Reviewing the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership

  • Support other systems as assigned

  • Takes on moderate to complex level of support and configuration, participates in project planning, collaborates with stakeholders to analyze workflows, and may lead smaller implementation initiative, functions in support role in major initiatives. Provides guidance to Analyst I., Performs related and miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Task prioritization?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Familiarity with lab workflows, regulatory requirements, integration points, and patient experiences

  • EHR Configuration and Build Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in the analysis, design, build, testing, and maintenance of Epic EMR or other EMR applications, with a strong understanding of healthcare workflows related to electronic medical record systems.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of system development methodology and principles of project management.

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.

  • Technical knowledge and understanding of clinical systems.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff.

  • Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively.
