Job description

As a Junior Full Stack Developer, you’ll contribute to building modern, user-friendly applications that support frontline healthcare and social-care workers, in our exciting start up IT company. You’ll work across mobile, backend, and cloud technologies while learning directly from experienced engineers in a supportive, growth-focused environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Mobile Development - Contribute to building and maintaining cross-platform mobile apps for iOS and Android using React Native.

  • Backend Support - Assist in writing, improving, and maintaining serverless APIs built with Node.js and Azure Functions.

  • Database Operations - Learn to query, structure, and manage data within Azure Cosmos DB and understand NoSQL design patterns.

  • Testing & Debugging - Collaborate with QA to identify issues, validate fixes, and support smooth, reliable deployments.

  • Development Workflow - Work with industry-standard tools (VS Code, Xcode, Android Studio, Git) to write clean code and collaborate effectively.

  • Continuous Learning - Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and mentorship sessions to accelerate your growth as a developer.

Requirements

  • Foundational Knowledge - Solid understanding of JavaScript fundamentals; TypeScript familiarity is a plus.

  • Frontend Skills - Basic experience with React or React Native, or strong foundational knowledge of component-based UI development.

  • Backend Familiarity - Understanding of Node.js, RESTful APIs, and how data flows between frontend and backend systems.

  • Growth Mindset - Eagerness to learn cloud architecture (especially Azure), serverless patterns, and NoSQL databases.

  • Problem-Solving - Comfortable asking questions, researching solutions, and troubleshooting development environment issues.

  • Mission-Driven - Motivated by building technology that improves the daily operations of frontline healthcare and social-support professionals and someone who wants to be apart of watching this company grow.

Who You Are (The Teammate We’re Looking For)

  • Team-First Mindset - You care about collaboration more than ego. You communicate clearly, support others, and value shared wins.

  • Curious Problem-Solver - You enjoy figuring things out. You ask thoughtful questions, explore new ideas, and aren’t afraid to dig into unfamiliar territory.

  • Reliable & Accountable - You follow through on commitments, communicate blockers early, and take pride in delivering work you can stand behind.

  • Driven - You’re hungry to learn. You actively seek feedback, embrace mentorship, and want to become a stronger engineer every month.

  • Growth - Someone who wants to grow and better themselves in this field and progress with the company and as individuals as we begin to expand.

  • Empathetic Builder - You care about the people who use your software. You think about their challenges, frustrations, and workflows when writing code.

  • Calm Under Pressure - You stay level-headed when things break, deadlines shift, or priorities change - and you approach problems with patience and clarity.

  • Mission-Aligned - You’re motivated by meaningful work and want to build tools that genuinely improve the lives of frontline healthcare and social-care workers.

Qualifications & Experience We Value

  • Real-World Portfolio - Whether you’re self-taught or formally trained, we want to see the projects you’ve built, the problems you’ve solved, and the technologies you’ve worked with. Your portfolio and practical experience matter most.

  • Formal Education - A degree, diploma, or certification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is beneficial - but not required. We welcome candidates who’ve taken alternative learning paths.

  • Hands-On Experience - Any exposure to building apps, APIs, or personal projects using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, React Native, or Node.js is highly valuable.

  • Understanding of Software Design - Ability to work within structured, well-defined development patterns (or willingness to learn them). We value both self-taught adaptability and formal design discipline.

  • Cloud & Serverless Interest - Familiarity with Azure, serverless functions, or SQL databases is a plus - but curiosity and willingness to learn are just as important.

  • Collaborative Mindset - Experience working in teams, contributing to shared codebases, or participating in code reviews is helpful, even if only through school projects or open-source contributions.
