Job description

Robotics Software Engineer (all genders welcome) - Maritime Robotics - Manipulator Control & End-Effector Handling (AUV) As a Robotics Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the control of manipulator arms and end-effector handling on autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) used for close-range inspection of maritime infrastructure. You will develop robust, ROS2-based algorithms and work closely with interdisciplinary teams and research partners to drive forward innovative solutions in underwater robotics. What you can expect You develop manipulator control and end-effector handling for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) that perform close-range inspections and non-destructive testing tasks. You develop solutions for inspecting critical underwater infrastructure (e.g. pipelines, offshore facilities, energy and communication networks) and validate them for use under real ocean conditions. You plan, support, and evaluate simulations and maritime field tests, analyzing relevant sensor and navigation data. You work with modern software development environments and open-source frameworks (in particular ROS2) and relevant libraries to implement and evaluate your algorithms. You collaborate closely with other teams within the Subsea group - such as high-level mission planning, manipulator control, and vehicle control - as well as with external partners like universities and research institutions, actively contributing to joint research and development projects.

Requirements

To become part of the Rosenxt family, you stand out through an independent, structured and team-oriented way of working as well as strong communication and collaboration skills. You also bring: You have a degree in a technical field such as robotics, computer science, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a comparable field, ideally with a focus on maritime robotics or AUV-based inspection. You have several years of professional experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or maritime robotics. You have solid expertise in manipulator control, strong programming skills in C++, and hands-on experience with ROS2-based systems and relevant manipulator control libraries (MoveIt). You bring a strong sense of ownership and excellent communication skills within interdisciplinary teams. You have a strong affinity for research and collaboration with universities and research institutes.
