Job description

  • Provide first response to tickets, calls, emails, and monitoring events.
  • Engage with users face-to-face.
  • Perform initial triage of incidents and requests.
  • Escalate tickets within the team to 2nd and 3rd line engineers as required.
  • Carry out onboarding and offboarding of internal and customer users.
  • Provide ongoing support of user accounts, access, and permissions.
  • Build, deploy, and troubleshoot end user devices.
  • Test, build, and track physical assets including end user devices and servers.

Requirements

  • We are looking for candidates who are new to the IT industry and are looking to kickstart their career.
  • No previous experience or skills are required.
  • We value enthusiasm and drive to learn within a fast-paced and exciting field.
  • A passion for IT through education or personal interests is important.
  • You must have or be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
  • You must be able to reliably commute to Farnborough, GU14 0LS or plan to relocate before starting.
  • You must have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Desirable: knowledge of Windows 10/11 and macOS.
  • Desirable: understanding of computer components and physical hardware, including desktops, laptops, and servers.
  • Desirable: understanding of basic networking concepts.
  • Desirable: experience with Azure/Microsoft 365 user and device administration.
  • Desirable: experience with Intune and Jamf administration.
  • Desirable: experience with Active Directory user and group administration.

About the company

We are a fast-growing IT consulting client offering a structured 6-7 week training pathway delivered remotely before our Junior Support Engineers join us onsite in Farnborough, Hampshire. During training, the salary starts at £19,500 and increases to £27,000 on completion of training and client assignment, with a further increase to £30,000 after 12 months on client site. We provide opportunities for progression, personal development, and direct contact with our company directors, and we want our Junior Support Engineers to help shape our company and its wider environment.
