Job description
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, collectively monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations, both globally and regionally, to improve performance. C2BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems.
The position will be based at Ramstein AFB in Germany. The successful candidate will report to the EUCOM C2BMC O&M Site Lead and the C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO). The candidate is responsible for providing technical support as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all local hardware, software, and network issues for the EUCOM C2BMC systems in a 24x7 operations and test environment. This position requires working in a team environment on multiple tasks, including interfacing with the Warfighters to provide second-level technical support, performing on-site troubleshooting of all C2BMC assets at all EUCOM sites, and interfacing with the C2BMC Command Center (CCC) Level 2 team for all escalated issues.
Essential Functions:
- Will perform all software installations and upgrades for the C2BMC systems assigned to their AOR
- Will be responsible for the sustainment of all Ramstein AFB C2BMC physical inventory, including spares and COMSEC devices, and for providing accurate documentation of all inventory movement
- Travel is expected in support of Remote Sites
- Position is normally Mon-Fri and will require on-call, evening, and weekend support during system anomalies and/or tests
- Performs other related duties and assignments as needed
Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD in a related discipline with 1 year of relevant work experience
- Applicants must have a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, SecurityX, CCNA Security, CySA+ **, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CASP+ CE, CISSP, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period
- Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application and must be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance

Practical knowledge and experience in operating and maintaining large-scale computer and communication systems or networking environments *

Practical knowledge and experience in system and/or network administration covering UNIX, Linux, Windows, Cisco, and Juniper *

Proficient in troubleshooting hardware and software components such as ADSI, CDS, and TDACS *

Must be a proactive problem solver capable of working with both military and civilian personnel in high-stress situations with minimal supervision *

Comprehend the security needs for both open and closed storage of COMSEC materials *

Demonstrate the ability to provide advanced troubleshooting for COMSEC devices, including contacting technical resources from the manufacturer *
- Proficient in communicating technical system and network issues, and reporting overall system status to program management and customer leadership using tools like Microsoft Visio and PowerPoint, * Applicants with a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application and eligibility to be read on to SCI are highly desired
- Prior experience with C2BMC systems or a background with the Missile Defense Agency
- Scripting on Linux, UNIX, or Windows servers and Windows Workstations
- Thorough knowledge of Two-Factor Authentication management
- Has expertise in IT Service Management (ITSM) principles.

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
