Job description

The Data Application Specialist provides technical, training, and data support related to the organization’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This position works closely with clinical and administrative staff and multiple departments to improve EHR utilization, resolve issues, develop effective workflows, and support data-driven organizational needs.

Duties

· Develop and maintain EHR user training materials and documentation.

· Provide EHR training to new and existing staff.

· Provide ongoing EHR user guidance, education, and support.

· Troubleshoot EHR-related issues and assist users in identifying effective solutions.

· Set up and maintain EHR user access and configurations.

· Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to identify opportunities for improved workflows, efficiency, and EHR utilization.

· Apply knowledge of EHR functionality, staff workflows, and organizational needs to recommend and develop effective solutions.

· Collaborate in the transformation, manipulation, and organization of data to meet clinical and administrative needs.

· Design, develop, and maintain reports to support clinical operations, administrative functions, and organizational decision-making.

· Work extensively with multiple departments to understand needs, communicate solutions, and coordinate implementation of EHR and data-related improvements.

Requirements

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff at varying levels of technical proficiency.

· Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

· Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with multiple departments.

· Strong understanding of EHR systems and their application to clinical and administrative workflows.

· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and demonstrated ability to develop and manipulate data reports. Excel proficiency will be assessed as part of the selection process.

· Ability to analyze data, identify trends or issues, and develop practical solutions to meet organizational needs.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
