GuildfordDesign - Level Design /Full -time /On-siteWith multiple awards to our name, Larian Studios has proven that we’re dedicated to delivering high-quality role-playing games As we move on to new projects, the studio that brought you Baldur’s Gate 3 & Divinity: Original Sin 2 is looking for a Level Designer to join the team and help us in crafting the high calibre games our fans have come to expect.ResponsibilitiesBuild white box versions of areas after consulting with all relevant partiesHandoff areas to environment art, scripting, combat and cinematics while helping them elevate the experienceFinalize areas for shippingUnderstand the role an area plays in the composition of the game experience, based on the narrative and design/creative directors briefingKnow and apply all features and mechanics that are available to the player for explorationReserve space for features that are in development but not available yetBe ready to throw away everything you made and start from scratch

Requirements

with a new perspective obtained through previous iterationsFix level design related bugs in your own or other peoples’ areasMake sure the level is always playable and ready to goRequirementsA design relevant degreeProven commercial experience in video game level designAbility to work well as part of a distributed, international teamAn extremely positive can do attitudeAbility to give and receive feedbackThe ability to efficiently communicate designs through 2D mockups or flowchartsAbility to experience the game as a playerAn RPG gamer with a passion for narrative-driven gamesNice to HavesA background or degree in: Industrial Design, Architecture, Classical Art or Interaction DesignWhat we offerAn international team of over 500 employees spread across 7 studios around the world, each of which have their own unique qualities, and maintain a small-studio feelAn open, collaborative environment where ideas are welcome and encouragedA managerial team consisting of highly experienced game
