Job description

We are looking to build our testing capability across our software delivery teams. This is an opportunity to register your interest in future Software Development Engineer in Test opportunities, where you could contribute to ensuring quality and reliability across modern, distributed systems and microservices architectures., Roles of this type may sit within collaborative engineering teams delivering cloud-native applications and platforms. The work could involve designing and implementing automated test frameworks, developing test infrastructure, and partnering with software engineers to embed quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle. You could work across diverse technology stacks including .NET, ASP.NET, Java, Spring Boot, Python and React, testing APIs, microservices and distributed systems deployed on Azure, AWS or GCP. This is a contract opportunity based in London, Greater London, England, offering £450-550 per day., * Designing and building automated test frameworks and test infrastructure for microservices and distributed systems

  • Developing test scripts and automation in languages such as Java, Python or C# to validate APIs and application functionality
  • Collaborating with software engineers to define testability requirements and embed quality checks into CI/CD pipelines
  • Implementing test automation within cloud environments such as Azure, AWS or GCP, including containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Contributing to data quality validation for data pipelines and ensuring compliance with quality standards
  • Documenting test strategies, test cases and automation frameworks to support team knowledge sharing
  • Supporting the maintenance and evolution of test infrastructure as systems scale

Requirements

  • Strong programming experience in at least one language such as Java, C# / .NET, Python or similar, with the ability to write robust, maintainable test automation code
  • Solid understanding of APIs, microservices architecture and distributed systems testing
  • Experience designing and implementing automated test frameworks and CI/CD integration
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, with the ability to validate data quality
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
  • Knowledge of SAP systems (S/4HANA, ECC) or enterprise application testing
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies and BDD frameworks
  • Exposure to Linux and Bash scripting
