Job description

  • Designing and building automated test frameworks and test suites for microservices and distributed systems
  • Developing API and integration tests across .NET, Java, Python and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Implementing CI/CD test pipelines and quality gates using containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
  • Collaborating with development and DevOps teams to shift quality left and embed testing into the delivery lifecycle
  • Creating and maintaining test data and data quality validation frameworks
  • Contributing to test strategy across multiple technology stacks and deployment environments
  • Mentoring junior QA team members where opportunities arise, Most roles of this type offer the following, dependent on the industry and seniority of the role:

Requirements

  • Proven experience designing and implementing automated test frameworks and suites using Java, Python, C# or similar
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of API testing and microservices testing approaches
  • Experience with CI/CD toolchains and test automation in cloud environments (Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Working knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • SQL and database testing skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
  • Authorization to work in the United Kingdom

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with .NET, ASP.NET, Spring Boot or Spring frameworks
  • Familiarity with frontend testing (React) or distributed systems patterns
  • Knowledge of SAP systems (S/4HANA, ECC, RISE) or data pipeline testing
  • Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform)
  • Linux and Bash scripting
  • BDD/BPMN or UML understanding
  • Kubernetes or advanced Docker proficiency
