Job description

Under general supervision of the Sr Manager II Application Development, designs and develops custom software applications and business process management solutions to meet business needs, increase efficiency, and automate business processes. Close collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to understand requirements, develop and implement solutions. Works closely with the Principal Application Engineers, ensuring high-quality solutions and seamless user experiences. Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designed and developed end-to-end business process applications using Appian.
  • Analyzes business requirements and translates them into technical specifications.
  • Provides customer support by troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving software and platform issues and defects.
  • Follows established standards and technical documentation requirements within the team and on assigned projects.
  • Develops and maintains accurate technical documentation.
  • Implements best practices for code quality, security, and maintainability.
  • Participates in code reviews and provides constructive feedback.
  • Operates with minimal supervision, receiving broad guidance from experienced team members.
  • Communicates progress, roadblocks, and challenges early and effectively to peers and management.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional team, including developers, product managers, project managers, business analysts, quality assurance engineers and other business stakeholders to understand the requirements and specifications of software applications.
  • Embraces and adheres to Agile methodologies, by actively participating in meetings like sprint planning, stand-ups, grooming sessions, Kanban board updates, and retrospectives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience designing, developing and/or implementing custom information systems and software applications.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience that can be substituted for the above.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience in web development, cloud computing, data structures, algorithms, and system architecture.
  • Experience in ORACLE and/or SQL Server RDBMS.
  • Knowledge of various software development tools, frameworks, and methodologies, e.g., Agile, Scrum, Git, or DevOps.
  • Skills in performing unit testing, debugging, and utilizing performance optimization tools and techniques.
  • Skills in secure coding practices.
